On this chill October evening Ladye Tidsbury sits quietly on an olde log stump at the edge of Widsbee meadow watching as the commotion of the day gracefully turns into the quietness of night
My beautiful White Pumpkin Witch ~ Ladye Tidsbury ~ is made from muslin which I have painted and sanded many times. She has a hand sculpted clay nose and hand drawn facial features. I've done her eyes and mouth in a combination of artist pencils, water color pencils and acrylic paint. They have all been sealed with acrylic sealer. Ladye Tidsbury's dress is made from a deep black homespun cotton. It has an antique ivory lace trim around the wrist and neckline. Around the bodice of her dress is a beautiful peacock blue, black and cream Reproduction Civil War fabric sash. Ladye Tidsbury's hat is made from the same black homespun as her dress and also has a coordinating sash.
I've made her lovley little slippers from the same beautiful fabric as her dress and hat sash. They are trimmed with antique Ivory Lace and have tiny french knot's made from SILK thread in a beautiful copper color. Her broom is made from a painted and aged wooden dowel. On the end I have tied a beautiful bunch of dried Silver Mound, it smells wonderful. She holds a small white pumpkin made from a piece of an antique wool blanket, with a twisted stick stem.
