This cute as can be little froggy is my Ethel. She brings along a wonderful little pumpkin pinkeep basket. Ethel is made of heavy weight cotton muslin that I have tightly stuffed, painted and sanded. I have carefully hand painted and shaded her facial features. She has hand stitched applied eyelids and mouth. Two tiny black glass beads are stitched on to serve as her nostrils. Her hat is made of a heavy weight black cotton that is trimmed with a band of polkadots and checks with a raggedy rossette with a vintage button center. Her pretty little dress is made of assorted cotton fabrics that have been stained. A large collar trimmed with orange rick rack, a vintage button and checkered tie embellish the dress. Her pantaloons are made of a stained cotton and hemmed with lace. Her striped stockings and black slippers have been painted on and each foot has a tiny rusty bell. The very special little pin keep basket is made of painted needle sculpted muslin that has a tin can base which provides a handy little container for a spool of thread and a few notions to tuck away. The lid is a pin cusion that I have made from various stained cotton prints and trimmed with a fabric covered button and some black rick rack. I have encluded some rusty bell stick pins. The handle is made of fabric covered wire. The pinkeep measures just about 9 inches tall from the bottom to the top of the handle. Ethel measures just about 29 inches tall from the tips of her toes to the top of her tall hat. Ethel and her pumpkin basket are one of a kind Pixie's Thimble designs and will come to you signed and dated. Ethel is a wonderfully whimsical and charming little froggy with a prim touch and her little basket is as useful as it is decorative. I thank you so much for visiting with us today.
