I just love the colors in this piece so much. I can almost smell the fresh scents of spring when I look at him. This little Easter bunny is my Bobby Blue Buttons. He is made of heavy weight cotton muslin that I have tightly stuffed, painted, sanded and stained. He has hand stitched applied eyelids and round little nose. His long ears and arms are wired and can be posed any way you wish.
His striped stockings and dark brown boots are painted on and each foot has a row of tiny bells that serve as boot buttons. His hat is made of a heavy weight cotton print and is embellished with spring flowers, tinsel garland and vintage image Easter note card that has been lightly glittered. His gorgeous top coat is made of a beautiful cotton print and lined with the same fabric as the hat.
It is trimmed with a layered ruffled collar of cream and beige cotton ticking and embellished with rusty bells, vintage buttons and more tinsel garland. His trousers are made of cotton ticking with polkadot rolled back cuffs. All of his garments have been stained to age them up just a bit and give them an antique look. Bobby is carrying a cute little basket that I have made of painted muslin with a wire handle. Nestled in the basket is a blue speckled egg with a sparkly spring flower and sprigs of fragrant Sweet Annie.
This bunny is just gorgeous in person and is sure to bring ooos and ahhhs from all that he greets. I know he will become a favorite for many years to come. He will delight you with his prim whimsical style.
Bobby is just about 28 inches tall from the tips of his toes to the top of his hat.
