Spring Bunnies

Welcome to my February update. This month I'm offering two petite Spring bunnies. Both Bunnies are made of aged muslin. The patriotic Bunny is 14" tall (including his hat), the Spring egg Bunny is 13" tall. Their ears and arms are wired, so both can be posed. All clothing fabrics are quilt shop cottons and are gently aged.

The bunnies' noses and mouths are stitched with floss. I drew their blue/grey eyes and did all of the shading, blushing and highlighting with artists' pencils. Their whiskers are aged quilting thread.

The bunnies can sit or hang.

Patriotic Bunny

This Americana Bunny is a perfect small accent for all of the upcoming patriotic holidays. His pants are made of navy cotton with off-white stripes of tiny stars. The waist and legs are hand-hemmed and gathered with floss. His shirt is muslin and has a red/white polka dot grosgrain ribbon around the neck, attached to it is a white jingle bell. His stove-pipe hat is made of the same fabric as the pants and has a band of red/white stripe grosgrain ribbon. His ears are pulled through slits cut into the hat brim. Clasped in his left hand is a tiny, vintage paper flag.

This little guy is all ready to celebrate the joys of being American!

SPRING BUNNY

Spring Bunny is dressed a festive polka dot top and pants. The top is brown with multi-color polka dots. I hemmed and gathered the sleeves and neckline with floss. The bow around her neck is pale yellow-stained cheesecloth and I added a vintage red button that matches some of the dots in the dress. Her bloomers are a gold ticking with multi-color stripes. I hemmed the legs and waist with floss. The Bunny is carrying a painted and aged papier 'mache egg on rusty wire. On the egg is a tiny banner proclaiming ~SPRING~ (which I think we're all more than ready for)!
