Penny McAllister

In loving memory..

Penny McAllister
4/13/53 - 3/26/10
A beautiful person, a super talented whimsical artist, a loving and supportive friend, Penny McAllister is now one of the brightest stars in the night-time skies..watching over us all..as we continue down our creative paths.
It wouldn't surprise me to see bright, polka-dotted clouds occasionally drift by..and  lime green, yellow and red snowflakes fall from the sky!
Her time here on earth was far too short, but the memories, laughter and love that she leaves behind are forever etched into our hearts.

I saw an Angel today…
As I was heading out to play
Of all the funniest things,
She had tiny polka dot wings.
She was all dressed in red,
And I giggled as she landed on my head.
With her wings spread wide and ready for flight,
“Oh don’t fly away” I said with a fright.
She gently whispered in my ear,
“Don’t worry dear friend I’ll always be near.
In your thoughts, your dreams and, your prayers,
Your laughter, your smiles, and your love we will always share.”
With a sparkle and twinkle and sweet blessings,
She gracefully fluttered her polka dot wings.
I saw an angel today…
One I'll never forget.

“You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all she's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her only that she is gone,
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your
back.
Or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love
and go on.”~~~David Harkins~~~

"Penny worked with Midwest-CBK for seven years, and was known for her spirit, creativity and trademark folk art-inspired characters. She began what she called her “dream occupation” as a licensed artist with Midwest-CBK after serving as an elementary school librarian for more than 20 years."

We will miss you terribly Penny.. but I know you would all want us to keep on creating, learning and growing as artists..and so we shall try, so that we may keep you alive in our hearts!

The 'Posies' shown above are the creations that Penny taught us how to make while gathered in Napa Valley in the Spring of 2008. Some  Members of the Pfatt eBay group gathered and spent the weekend laughing, shopping, hugging and creating for 4 wonderful days.

At the Alameda Flea Market.. of course its easy to spot Penny..and her Polka Dots!! :)
