Polly Poppet Doll

Polly Popper

Sweet Polly Poppet has gathered eggs with her faithful dog at her side. She is about 11” including her handmade wooden stand. Polly is made from muslin, gessoed, painted and stained to look like an old antique poppet doll. My inspiration came from Christine LeFever, a wonderful doll artist whom I greatly admire.

She has a calico dress, muslin apron and a mop hat, lace trim and handsewn. Features are hand painted. Polly also has an egg basket with 2 tiny eggs, wired securely to her wrist. Her hair is some wild and crazy yarn I found.

Polly’s stand is made from a wooden block and small wood stick, which have both been painted black. Then I added a little lace paper doily and a teeny black rose in the center of the wooden block. Her faithful companion is a Dresden print glued to the front.

I think she would look great tucked into an old cabinet or shelf. And I think she would make a great gift for someone special!

Spring Cross Stitch

Spring Cross Stitch

A really sweet little cross stitch. Pattern from Primitive Stitchen’. I stitched it on prairie cloth and then stained it to look really old. The frame is 4” x 5” which I painted and then crackled. Added some great glass glitter around the edges of frame in spring green. Glued on a little paper flower and a strip green leaf trim across the bottom of frame. The little cross stitch picture measures 2” x 3. Would make a great Easter gift! Checks, Paypal or Money Order Questions? Please email me!
