Artist's Bio - Jan Conwell - Jan Conwell Folk Art

I won a blue ribbon at the state fair with an oil painting of a horse when I was seven. Art was the path for me. Aside from oil painting, I’ve enjoyed medieval costuming, gourd art, crochet & embroidery, and furniture painting. In 2009, I began sculpting and discovered an abiding love for it.

Since then, my work has been published in Art Doll Quarterly, Prims, and Early American life. I taught a cloth and clay art doll class for the 2014 UFDC convention, and have taught many classes in my home. Today I live in the pine forests of eastern Arizona with my husband, pet, and a small flock of chickens.
