Iva’s Creations ~ Vintage-style Fancies by Iva Wilcox
The littlest sailor doll is made of paperclay that I've painted, aged and sealed and tea-stained muslin. He has the cutest chubby cheeks and light blue eyes. His brown hair has been painted with subtle highlights from days playing in the sun. His hat is removable.
He is all handmade by me and no patterns were used in his creation. His body is weighted, and he has jointed arms and legs, all for that aged and time worn look. He can be propped up nicely to sit with his toy sailboat in his lap (pictured). He has sculpted fingers and painted shoes. His shirt is a vintage-style red cotton with a nautical theme and scenes of children playing. His collar, little sailor hat and trousers are made from muslin. A silk mint-colored ribbon is tied around his collar.

Uncle Sam is celebrating May Day with a SALE. He is a paper and fabric doll. His head is made of paperclay that has been aged and sealed. Under his hat he is bald, but he does have a nice tuft of white hair (lambs wool) at the back of his head. His hair hits the top of his organic cotton collar, which is adorned with a red satin ribbon and a vintage silver flag button. His removable hat is also organic cotton with red star trim. (See photos below).
His body is a round paper mache box 3-1/2" in diameter I've painted and collaged. The bottom has a wonderful patriotic Constitution-style handwritten paper, while the top has been scuffed up a bit for an aged look. The lid does come off, so you can store all sorts of small Americana items.
His arms and legs are wire-hinged. He holds a rusty wire with a quilted flag in his left hand. His sleeves are paper mache covered in fabric, while his legs are painted paper mache. He sits 6-3/4" tall from the top of his hat to the bottom of the box.
He is the second in a limited series of three I am finishing. Each have been hand-made by me and are one of a kind, in addition to being signed and dated.

This sweet little angel stands atop a paper mache box adorned with musical notes. Even her dress have the music motif. I've used an antique German china head and attached it to a paper mache body. She stands on a round paper mache box measuring almost 2-3/4 inches across and 2 inches deep.
Her wings are a sheer wire-rimmed ribbon, so you can shape them as you like. She is firmly attached to the box, which I've trimmed in vintage sheet music and black gimp.
She holds a tiny bouquet of vintage flowers. Her cotton dress is trimmed in fine lace. She is one of a kind and comes from a smoke-free studio. From her head to the bottom of the box, she measures just over 6 inches.
